National Tree Week

National Tree Week is the UK’s celebration of our trees. The celebration marks the start of the tree planting season from November to March. In 2021, National Tree Week will take place from Saturday 27 November to Sunday 5 December- and Bradford is kicking off the celebrations in style!

We will be joining the City of Bradford Metropolitan Council & Trees for Cities to help create the Queens Green Canopy

“The event, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, will host crafts, activities and more, ensuring fun for all the family. By planting new trees you will help foster a lasting positive change to the local environment, by increasing biodiversity and supporting our natural wildlife”.

A hot vegan lunch and refreshments will be provided. Everybody is welcome to take part

Newhall Park.

10:00AM – 3:00PM Saturday 27th November 2021

We encourage you to walk, cycle or take public transport to the site. The closest bus stops are Bierley Lane Firth Row and Rooley Lane Sangster Way. Both are less than 15 minutes’ walk from Newhall Park.

Newhall Park Drive, BD5 8JX
Take the narrow path on the right-hand side of the road as you enter Newhall Park Drive. Continue straight, with the green fence on your right, until you reach a fork in the pathway. Take a left. When you reach the school gates, you will see the meeting point in the park down the slope to your right.

Bierley Lane, BD4 6AL
From Bierley Lane, walk directly across the sports field and go through the gate in the top left corner. Follow this path, with the school gates on your right, and take the steps in front of you down to Newhall Park. You will see us in the park beyond the first rows of trees.
